My babies always go quickly, as we raise them all in our home, and they are spoiled rotten by the time their new families come to take them home! I was very selective in choosing my breeding dogs, being sure that they were not related, and that they were not bred relative on top of relative.
My babies are pampered, and receive total care from our family vet at least twice before they leave our care (including tails and dewclaw docking, shots and deworming.) I care for and nurture them as if they were going to remain in our home, working to get them used to going to the bathroom outside and socializing them so that they make the best pets possible. This is why our prices are a little higher, as we are not a puppy mill, and we don’t want our puppies going to a puppy mill either. As the Lord has blessed us with these precious little babies, we feel it is very important to protect our puppies the best we can, while they are in our care and in selecting the best homes for them. We screen our "adoptive parents" very well, to make sure our precious babies will be well cared for.
Many people say that it doesn’t matter if they are loaded with champions, but the truth is, the stronger the champion background, the better pet the puppies are likely to be. They are likely to be more intelligent and obedient, as they have been bred to be “top dog” in their entire “make up.” They should look like a miniature schnauzer should look and act like a miniature schnauzer should act. Temperament is VERY important, and all of our miniature schnauzers are as sweet natured as you can find.
I am not like a lot of other breeders that just want the money, no matter how they get it, or where they get it from. I establish lasting relationships with my new adoptive parents, and look forward to seeing the puppies grow into the beauties that they become. This also helps me to be a better breeder, as I know what traits my adult dogs are passing down to their babies. We have a really GREAT record, and we have NEVER had any of our babies not grow to be healthy companions. If I don’t keep in touch with the new families, I would never know what I am breeding.
Since all my puppies are either sold before they are born or shortly after, I believe this is a great testimony as to how our dogs are top notch! Each family that has visited our mini schnauzer family to check out their surroundings and temperament, have fallen in love with them. Actually, we pride ourselves in the fact that all who have even visited our mini schnauzer family, if they were ready to add to their family, and we had any available to place deposits on, we have never had anyone walk away without putting down a deposit!
I require a $200 deposit at the time you come and pick your new baby out, and at that time… from that point on… your new baby is yours to name, and we start getting them used to that new name. I send lots of pictures and open up my home for the prospective family to come and visit to see their new baby as often as they would like. I do not let them go before they are 8 weeks old. I used to let them go at 6 weeks, but I have learned that it is not a good idea. The puppies need weeks 7 and 8 to learn how to socialize with other dogs and how to “play nice.” Momma teaches them A LOT during that time. At 6 weeks of age, they start trying to establish their dominancy, and if not taught correctly, they can become very hard to get along with. They will try to bite you, and if not handled properly, they could learn that they can bite and get away with it, establishing that they are the boss.
We always encourage all prospective families to come and visit us, but we understand the distance and the cost of gas. We are located in Northwest Georgia, in La Fayette. The weekends would generally be the best time to come and visit. Saturday is “bath and grooming day” for my dogs and we are usually done by noon. My dogs are REALLY sweet, and they LOVE company! (so do we)
Please be sure to call if you have any questions about our babies on my cell phone at 804-306-3690 or at home at 706-639-1925. I look forward to hearing from you soon!
Many blessings!
